Advanced Energy Names Dr. Linda Capuano Chief Technology Officer
FORT COLLINS, Colo., Oct. 25—Advanced Energy Industries (Nasdaq: AEIS), a leading global provider of critical solutions used in the production of semiconductors, flat panel displays, data storage products and other advanced applications, today announced the appointment of Dr. Linda Capuano, 53, as senior vice president and chief technology officer. She will report directly to Doug Schatz, chairman and chief executive officer, and will oversee Advanced Energy's research and development and legal groups. Rich Scholl has served as the company's chief technology officer since 1988, and will work closely with Dr. Capuano during a transitionary period.

Dr. Capuano brings to Advanced Energy over 25 years of management experience in a variety of functions in high tech companies. She spent 8 years at Honeywell, most recently as the corporate vice president of technology strategy. Prior to that, her roles spanned marketing, technology innovation, new business development and general business management. She also served as vice president of operations and chief financial officer at Conductus.
Dr. Capuano has both a Ph.D. in Materials Science and a M.S. in Engineering Management from Stanford University. She also has a M.S. in Chemistry and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado, as well as a B.S. in Chemistry from S.U.N.Y. at Stony Brook in New York. She sits on numerous boards, including the NASA National Technology Transfer Center Advisory Board. She is an associate of the National Academy of Sciences and chairs the National Academies' Committee on Assessing Vulnerabilities Related to the Nation's Chemical Infrastructure.
