Advanced Energy Appoints Dr. Barry Z. Posner to the Board of Directors
FORT COLLINS, Colo., Aug 17, 2004—Advanced Energy (Nasdaq: AEIS) today announced the appointment of Dr. Barry Z. Posner, 55, to the Board of Directors. Dr. Posner is Dean of the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University, a professor of leadership, and an award-winning author.

Dr. Posner is the co-author of four award-winning leadership books, including The Leadership Challenge: How to Keep Getting Extraordinary Things Done in Organizations. Dr. Posner, along with his co-author Jim Kouzes, received the International Management Council's award as the nation's top management and leadership educators. Dr. Posner is currently on the editorial review boards of the Journal of Business Ethics and Leadership Review, and section editor for the Journal of Management Inquiry. Dr. Posner also conducts leadership-based workshops for corporations around the world.
