MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, June 25, 2012—Advanced Energy Industries, Inc., (NASDAQ:AEIS) will be hosting an open house and tour at its new manufacturing facility in Mississauga, Ontario. The facility will support the manufacturing of Advanced Energy’s (AE) full commercial product line (35kW – 250kW) and utility-scale 500kW inverter.
Previously utilizing contract manufacturing in Ontario, AE Solar Energy will use the new, in-house facility to continue to help its customers achieve domestic content requirements, position itself closer to the market and its customers, and bring all the benefits of AE Solar Energy to the Ontario solar market and the solar projects it helps develop.
“Ontario has a mission to be a North American leader in clean technology—it’s why we introduced the Green Energy Act and it’s why we’re proud to be home to clean energy companies like Advanced Energy,” said Brad Duguid, minister of economic development and innovation, Ontario. “The work they do is creating advanced manufacturing jobs today and a healthy environment for our children and grandchildren.”
The company has invested $2.5 million in the Mississauga facility, which will result in 12 new AE Solar Energy jobs in the province.
As Gordon Tredger, president of AE Solar Energy and an Ontario native, said
“We’ve made methodical steps into the Ontario market, pragmatically increasing our presence to grow our expertise and build our local team, and take advantage of growing opportunities there. As we have a flexible and responsive operations model that enables us to efficiently grow our capacity to meet market demands, and the Ontario market looks promising long-term, we expect to continue to expand our efforts in the area.”
