Thomas M. Rohrs Elected to Advanced Energy Board of Directors

FORT COLLINS, Colo., May 26, 2006—Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: AEIS) today announced that Thomas M. Rohrs was elected by the stockholders as a new director on May 24, 2006. Mr. Rohrs is currently chairman and chief executive officer of Electroglas, Inc., a supplier of wafer probing technologies to the semiconductor industry, a position he has held since April 7, 2006.

Mr. Rohrs spent five years with Applied Materials Inc., most recently as senior vice president of global operations, and was a member of its Executive Committee. He also has served as vice president of worldwide operations at Silicon Graphics and as senior vice president of manufacturing and customer service of MIPS Computer Systems. Mr. Rohrs also has worked in various manufacturing and operations positions at Hewlett-Packard Company. He currently serves on the boards of directors of Magma Design Automation, Inc., Ultra Clean Technology and several private companies.
