Advanced Energy Appoints Senior Vice President Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer

Fort Collins, Colorado (August 27, 1999) – Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq NM:AEIS) has appointed Fred DeSantis to the position of Senior Vice President, Assistant to the President & Chief Operating Officer. In announcing this new appointment, AE’s COO Hollis Caswell said, “We are happy to have Fred joining us at AE. His broad engineering background will be of great value to the company as we face the challenges of the coming century. We anticipate he will be a key player in determining the future direction of the Company.”

 

In this new position, Mr. DeSantis will be responsible for establishing engineering operations at Advanced Energy’s Western Regional Facility as well as formulating power delivery architecture for future AE products. Mr. DeSantis comes to AE with a BS in Physics and an extensive background in computer system design, hardware architecture and ASIC development both as a developer and a manager. Mr. DeSantis has held a number of senior executive positions with Burroughs, Unisys and Siemans where he managed systems development, common platforms, technology, software, marketing, and customer support.
