Fred Weaver Assumes VP Position at Advanced Energy

FORT COLLINS, Colorado (February 5, 1998)—Fred Weaver has been named Vice President of the new Customer Satisfaction group at Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. (AE). In announcing the new appointment, AE’s COO Hollis Caswell noted that, ”Fred Weaver brings to his new assignment a wealth of management experience and a true sensitivity for our customers’ interests. He and his group are to ensure that Advanced Energy customers view AE as an outstanding supplier in the areas of reliability, quality, and customer support.”

Before joining AE on November 24, 1997, Mr. Weaver spent 20 years with Anheuser Busch. His most recent assignment was Operations Manager of the Anheuser Busch plant in Fort Collins, Colorado. In that position, he was involved in plant start up and operational development as well as the ongoing operation of that facility. He was responsible for manufacturing quality as well as engineering and production to meet market requirements for US and international customers.

At AE, Mr. Weaver has direct responsibility for Quality, Reliability Engineering, Compliance/Component Engineering, and Global Support. Mr. Weaver said, “I am happy to be part of AE’s effort to ensure that we meet our customer demands measured against their expectation for quality and reliability. To meet these expectations, the Customer Satisfaction group has a two-fold focus: 1) to support the design and fabrication of superior quality products at AE, and 2) to provide world-class aftermarket service and support once our products reside with our customers.”

Founded in 1981, AE is a leading supplier of power conversion and control systems for plasma-based thin film production equipment. Our systems are critical to industrial processes that use gaseous plasmas to deposit or etch thin film layers on materials or substrates such as glass, silicon, and metals during the manufacture of semiconductors, data storage media, flat panel displays, and a host of other products.
