Advanced Energy Celebrates Grand Opening of New Production Facility Dedicated to Solar Technology

Expands Advanced Energy’s Solaron® PV Inverter Manufacturing Capacity in Response to Market Adoption

FORT COLLINS, Colo., Dec. 16, 2009—Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. (NasdaqGM: AEIS), today announced the grand opening of a new production facility in Fort Collins, Colorado. The state-of-the-art, 48,000 square-foot facility was designed to meet emerging trends in the solar industry. The facility includes design and development capabilities focused on next-generation solar inverter technology, as well as a scalable manufacturing model to meet the growing demand for its products. The new production facility is currently configured to produce 250 megawatts of Solaron® PV grid-tie inverter products annually and is expandable to a capacity of more than one gigawatt. The company is marking the opening of the facility with a special celebration at the new site later today.
