Advanced Energy Names Kunihiko Kitagawa as President of Advanced Energy Japan K.K.

FORT COLLINS, Colo., December 7, 2005—Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: AEIS) today announced the appointment of Kunihiko “Kenny” Kitagawa as President and Representative Director of Advanced Energy Japan K.K. (AEJ) based in Hachioji, Japan. He replaces Nobuo Kawakami, who will be assuming the position of Chairman.

 

Mr. Kitagawa’s career spans twenty years of semiconductor industry experience as both a general manager and as a technologist. Mr. Kitagawa was most recently a representative director for Ultratech KK. Prior to his position at Ultratech, he was a general manager of key divisions at KLA-Tencor Japan. Earlier, he served as a general manager of Applied Materials Japan, responsible for strategic customer accounts.
